Shaul Schatz

Shaul Schatz was born in Kibbutz Sarid in 1944. After studying art at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, he went to study in the Netherlands. During the 1970s he was a partner in the "Mashkof" group. His early works were expressionist. Later, they developed a style of painting based on impressionistic spots and multiple brush strokes. Most of his work is on landscapes, especially the Jerusalem area. He also worked extensively on the printing techniques, especially etching.
