Modern European Artists

during the late 19th century and the 20th century a new kind of art emerged, one which is less influenced by trying to follow reality but by tracing individual impressions of its surroundings and expressions of the artist's feelings. it later developed into cubism and abstraction. Though this period can be characterized by many movements and styles and  artists, it can be argued as more important and influential on contemporary art than the periods of  the dark ages and Renaissance.
Here you will find artists who worked in Europe during the 19th and 20th century and changed the landscape of international art, giving them an eternal place in art history.
